One thing that really struck me yesterday was the set of tapestries depicting major events from Emperor Constantine's life. These tapestries are 15' by 25', they're huge. But they're just so dang impressive, you tend to forget that Constantine was a lead-addled wingnut who helped sink the Italian peninsula's first empire.

I wonder what the ultrawealthy give each other as gifts nowadays? A couple hundred years ago, the typical gifts seemed to be elegant tapestries, ornate armor, and Pennsylvania.
