Smartphones seem to have a bunch of app islands, where data stays on one app and isn't really shared between them. It's like our apps are all engaged in World War II, and us poor users are out of luck if we want to get from one island to another. Our only real choice is to head down to the water at night and slip out to sea in a tiny, furtive QR zodiac.

Worse, I see people tapping out email addresses and phone numbers; our apps hate each other so much, they force their citizens to strip almost naked and swim for other countries' beaches. And if you've been handed a phone with a lame input method, you're forced to doggy paddle your way there.

Tired of this? Get a QR code generator for your phone and pre-generate the info that you get asked often.
