The Gecko's Foot by Peter Forbes

Gecko's feet have nanoscale hairs that use Van der Waals to "stick" to macroscale objects. Lotuses' skins have microscale bumps that use water tension to keep water in droplets and dirt (which sticks to water more than it sticks to the skin) off of it. Spider silk is really hard to manufacture cheaply in quantity.
