Reading more on numeric bias, there's an interesting bias called <a 
href="http://mathworld.wolfram.com/BenfordsLaw.html">Benford's Law</a>.
Basically, we humans choose unit sizes that are near to the expected mean of
the distribution of all things commonly measured in that unit (think Bel and
deciBel). This biases our common number usage to the low side. We'll see if 
this bias of usage carries through to number selection.
