IBM's <a href="http://www.research.ibm.com/gsal/tcpa/">TCPA</a> chip (despite
some rather <a href="http://www.google.com/search?q=tcpa">boisterous
detractors</a>) is a step in the right direction. Although, I'd rather have a
tamper-free crypto chip in a handheld computing device (i.e.  in my wallet),
rather than in a laptop.
