Patrick McKenzie (kalzumeus) has a huge post on doing business in JP. Similarly, Karl Seguin has a short series on scaling Viki.
Both are blog-post aggregations that result in a semi-formalized extended essay. Note the differences, though.
Seguin's curation requires a definite ordering, while McKenzie's requires only an introduction, as each heading (post) has its own encapsulation.
With reasonably easy keyword tagging, McKenzie can slice his blog into material explorations, while Seguin requires the overhead of maintaining an ordered index.
So, just keep your writing encapsulated, hashtag the related posts, and add #firstpost to the intro piece.
