The 2016-10-23 Straits Times had an article in the classifieds section on a company running enrichment centres.
One way to view their approach to education is that after 6 (or more) hours of direct instruction, what these kids need is 5 more hours of direct instruction.
Meanwhile, over at Conversable Economist, soft/non-cognitive skills are emphasized as essential counter-parts to traditional curriculum.
Perhaps there's room for some re-tooling of the enrichment centres' approach? One that delivers high scores on exams, and better prepares students for the future?
