I just started hacking around with georss to visualize some geographically-related data. It seems a real pain that google maps doesn't geocode on the fly when you present it with a georss file ( total geocoding n00b here, let me know when I'm wrong ;). My current workaround was just to download a free zipcode to lat-long table and geocode it myself.
