Right now, I read English and German reliably well (French, Russian, and Chinese are minimalistic, but I've been improving my Chinese recently). Since I get news in English and German, this makes for occasional hilarity. For example, take today Financial Times and Germany's illustriously torrid Der Spiegel ("The Mirror"):

• Bush in U-turn on global warming
• Bush startet Offensive gegen Merkels Klima-Plaene ("Bush starts offensive against [German Chancellor] Merkel's Climate Plans")

The Brits think "Yay! We might actually get something done!". The Germans think, "He's torpedoing progress. Again!" ;)
