So much of our world depends on relative cost structures; costs fall and Wikipedia becomes viable. We seem to have passed Peak Print Newspapers, have we seen Peak Films? Do we care? What's replacing them? Blogs? Angry Birds?
Maybe we're socially realizing that we have plenty to talk about even if we're not reading the same articles, listening to the same music, watching the same stuff.
The media conglomerates who previously sold those things will either figure out how to make money, or they'll die. Costs have changed, culture has moved on.
* It's funny to think of films as similar to the pyramids.
