Powers of Ten -- Charles and Ray Eames

This 10-minute film (available on google video) wedges your learned understanding of the universe and your imagined visual representation of the universe. Because it shows you the difference between knowing something and understanding that thing in the span of 10 minutes, it's easily one of the most beneficially disturbing films I've ever seen.

It was made in the 70's, so it stops at 1E24 meters and 1E-16 meters, and it'd be cool to see an updated version with subatomic particles and more of the universe.

Update: 2007-04-02
Nikon updated the data to go from proton to nebula with the added twist of an interactive Flash timeline with object identification.

I remember that video from middle or high school. It was nice to see it again.
