I wandered over to Sim Lim ( electronics gear mecca ) today and bargained poorly for some power supplies for my laptop (just the plug adapter) and cellphone (3.6v power supply). Instead of paying $25 SGD (first price 30, I said too much, he said 25, I said fine) for the cell phone power supply, I probably should have just gotten another (SG law requires all cellphones must be unlocked at sale).

Also, Sim Lim closes at 2100, which put me in a crappy bargaining position (not having time to scope out alternatives) as I got there at 2045 and everyone was closing up as I was just getting familiarized. Since Singaporeans seem to work from 0900 to 1830, it seems like not much time for fooding and shopping....
