The National Gallery of Art will not present solo exhibitions by painter Chuck Close and photographer Thomas Roma, both of whom have been accused of sexual misconduct.

On the other, what museum would obtain were one to remove each and every artist whose personal failings were highly objectionable to their contemporaries?

In 2018, it seems that the institutions of these United States are under assail more than usual.
