Stigmata

His disciples said to him, "When will the kingdom come?"

"It will not come by watching for it. It will not be said, 'Look, here!' or 'Look, there!' Rather, the Father's kingdom is spread out upon the earth, and people don't see it."

113, the Gospel of Thomas

Films about the torments of faith attract me; you can probably guess why. A young Atheist starts bearing the wounds of the stigmata, and one part of the Catholic Church tries to kill her as she starts talking in Aramaic and rewriting Accepted Doctrine.

This film references the Gospel of Thomas, which is one of the Nag Hammadi (Dead Sea Scrolls) texts. After watching the film, I read the text, and it's worth a lot more than the film. This gospel is supposedly a series of transcribed parables told by Christ, but the parables aren't explained, which makes the reading, and attempt to derive meaning, much more enjoyable.
